Network Nursing Agency provides qualified Nurse Educators and Facilitators to assist in the delivery of Clinical Education and Professional Development for students and staff.

If you are looking for a facilitator job, the essential qualifications are as followed:

  • A registered nurse with a minimum of 5 years current and broad clinical nursing experience.
  • An unrestricted, current annual license issued by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA)
  • Minimum Bachelor Degree in Nursing or other appropriate tertiary qualification, or satisfactory progress towards completion of a tertiary qualification.
  • Experience in clinical education/ teaching of undergraduate nursing students, or other relevant teaching experience.
  • Completion of a preceptorship program/clinical teaching course, or equivalent professional development activities.

Your role description involves the following:

  • Taking a student-centred approach, being patient and supportive of student learning;
  • Clearly and consistently communicating expectations of students while on practicum;
  • Becoming familiar with the course structure and relevant objectives and specific expectations;
  • Actively facilitating learning opportunities that are relevant to student and unit learning objectives;
  • Attending scheduled pre-briefing and debriefing meetings;
  • Ensuring adequate personal orientation to the clinical facility/service in which the clinical practicum is to be undertaken ;
  • Liaising and consulting regularly with coordinators of units to facilitate effective integration of theory with practice and achievement of expected outcomes;
  • Liaising with people within the facility/service in which the clinical practicum is taking place to clarify unit objectives and learning experiences to be undertaken by students.
  • Assisting students with their development of communication, problem solving, clinical and professional practice skills;
  • Having a sound knowledge of the ANMC competency standards and facilitating student development and understanding of these competencies and practice;
  • Responding positively to the immediate concerns and needs of the students and the healthcare facility/service if unforeseen problems arise during the clinical experience;
  • Promoting the safety of both patients/clients and students through the selection and negotiation of appropriate learning experiences;
