The Role: Provide nursing care for patients facing various mental health challenges, including psychosis, eating disorders, mood disorders, and emotional distress across all age groups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and observe patients with mental health conditions.
- Encourage patients to engage in therapeutic activities.
- Administer medications and monitor their effects.
- Assist in the implementation of mental health programs.
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments.
- Support patients and their families through empathy and understanding.
- Help combat stigma surrounding mental illness.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
- Monitor, record, and report changes in patients’ conditions.
- Maintain accurate patient records and provide education to patients and families.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients.
- Manage patient admissions and discharges while coordinating care.
- Minimum of RN2 with recent clinical experience.
- Experience working with individuals facing mental health challenges.
- Work rights in Australia and current AHPRA Registration.
- Experience from Australia or equivalent standards (Canada, UK, USA, Ireland, Hong Kong etc.).
- Current Criminal Record Check (easily obtainable) and Working with Children Check (easily obtainable).
- Full immunization history.
- Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
- High levels of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to delivering quality patient care, with resilience and stamina.
