Congratulations to NNA Nurse of the Month for June 2023 - Emer Sweeney. Emer is a new addition to our team of NNA Nurses and she is already making a positive impact, amazing work! Here is a short Q&A where you can find out more about Emer's time with us so far: What do you enjoy the most about working with Network Nursing Agency? Since joining Network Nursing agency I have enjoyed the flexibility and the opportunity work in different areas. As I have recently moved to Australia I want to travel and explore. With NNA flexibility I can work my shifts around my plans and have a better work life balance. I also enjoy the social activities that NNA offer. It has given me the opportunity to meet other nurses and friends. Tell us about a rewarding experience you’ve had whilst working with Network Nursing Agency? While working with Network Nursing Agency I have found it very rewarding working with a vast variety of patients. Meeting new people and being able to care for people when they are at their most vulnerable. What makes you passionate about nursing? I am passionate about caring for my patients, working within a multidisciplinary team, and using my skills and knowledge to ensure the patient receives the best possible care. Hear about what Sinead loves most about working with us: What do you enjoy the most about working with NNA? There are many benefits to working with Network Nursing Agency, ranging from work flexibility to an organisation that cares about its staff. I can choose the shifts I want and adjust my schedule to fit my personal and professional needs. I have also gained a lot of experience in different healthcare settings and roles since working with NNA. They have exposed me to different environments which has helped me develop my skills and knowledge. But most of all, working with an organisation (NNA) that values its staff and treats you like family is a fantastic experience that makes a huge difference personally, especially when living away from home. NNA prioritises its staff’s well-being and creates an environment of trust and support, allowing nurses to thrive personally and professionally. Tell us about a rewarding experience you’ve had whilst working with Network Nursing Agency? Since 2017, I have had the pleasure of working with NNA. I have been very fortunate to work in various roles within the organisation. I have learned a great deal from the exposure and opportunities NNA has given me, and I will be forever grateful to them. My most rewarding experience has been working with NNA and, subsequently, the opportunities I’ve had in my nursing career in Australia. Thank you sincerely, NNA. What makes you passionate about nursing? As a nurse, I am passionate about my profession because it allows me to provide compassionate care to patients in need. Nursing is a challenging yet rewarding career requiring technical skills and strong interpersonal abilities. That being said, my passion at present is how we can assist existing and prospective nursing colleagues and future-proof their careers. We must foster environments and organisations that strongly emphasise care and compassion for our nurses. Thank you for all your hard work Sinead!

The thing I love most about working with NNA is getting to work on your own preferred timetable, and you get to select the hospitals that you prefer too. Tell us about a rewarding experience you’ve had whilst working with Network Nursing Agency? For me, it’s an ongoing rewarding experience. Being a nursing student, I have always been eager to learn new things, gain experience, and provide basic care and support to patients. NNA has given me the opportunity to understand everything that will help me in my nursing career, so I’m very thankful for that. What makes you passionate about nursing? I love to take care and look after people in need, and that’s something I have done for a long time as I used to look after my Grandparents. What I enjoy most is exploring different hospitals and departments, and experiencing different ways of Nursing! Tell us about a rewarding experience you’ve had whilst working with Network Nursing Agency? Recently, I had the opportunity to look after a patient who fought in World War II. He served as a Forward Scout on the front lines. It was fascinating hearing about his experiences and a privilege to be able to help him on his journey of recovery. What makes you passionate about nursing? Since graduating High School, I wanted a job that was physically active and that involved helping people. Nursing ticked the boxes. As a Nurse, I get to help people in some of the most difficult times of their life. It’s an honour and privilege to serve the needy. Thank you for all your hard work Brandon!

I have been working with Network Nursing Agency for 7 years. I like to work as an agency nurse because I get to have a great work-life balance. Agency nursing has more flexibility to work and choose shifts that suit you. What I like most about casual nursing is that I never get bored as I get to work in different clinical areas, and I also gain more clinical skills in the various settings. What makes you passionate about nursing? I like nursing as I like to help people. Nursing fulfils my life, and I am proud of it. Thank you for all your hard work Mary!
